Wednesday July 1, 2026 UPDATE FROM DOT:
The project is moving into the final phase, Phase 5 on Monday, July 6, 2026.
July 1 Weaver Brothers Construction is removing barrier in preparation of placing traffic into close to the final configuration using the roundabout.
Starting Monday July 6
- Striping the project to split traffic outside of the median splitter islands. This will allow the median islands, truck apron and center island to be constructed while traffic continues to flow around the work.
- All traffic will begin using the Hybrid Roundabout on Monday, July 6 and yielding to traffic.
- Barrels and signs will be in place to outline traffic lanes. Message Boards will provide notice of the new traffic pattern. The 4 new streetlights are scheduled to be energized on Monday as well.
Friday May 29, 2026 UPDATE FROM DOT:
Weaver has constructed the other half of the new roundabout. Paving of Route 127 is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026. Route 127 is scheduled to be open to traffic on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 by the end of the day. Two street lights have been installed on either side of Old Concord Road and a request has been placed to energize the lights. The foundation for Closed Circuit Television System has been installed next to Old Concord Rd. Weaver will continue construction of the Westbound sections of Route 9/202 including gravels, paving, lighting, sign structure, granite curb and concrete aprons.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will continue construction of a hybrid roundabout located at the intersection of US 202 (Route 9) and Route 127 / Old Concord Road just east of the Henniker/Hopkinton town line. The project is now moving into Phase 4, which includes work on Route 127 and the northern portion of the roundabout.
Weather permitting, Phase 4 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Construction will take place daily between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
During this phase, access to Route 127 from US 202 (Route 9) will be fully closed for approximately 14 days. There will be a signed 9-mile detour for Route 127 via Interstate 89 from Exit 6 to Exit 5 to connect back to US 202 (Route 9).
There will be a posted 35 mph speed limit through the project for road users’ safety.
This project consists of the construction of a hybrid roundabout and the reconstruction of the approaches on US 202 (NH Route 9), NH Route 127 and Old Concord Road. There will be new overhead signs structures and drainage improvements incorporated into the 5-phase project.
Message boards, flaggers, uniformed officers, and traffic control devices will be used as needed to direct the travelling public. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs through the work zone. A 10-mph speed reduction during construction will also be implemented for road users' safety.
