NOTICE of BRIDGE CLOSING

Effective Monday, August 4, 2008, the Western Avenue Bridge will be closed until further notice.

The New Hampshire Dept. of Transportation has determined: “ Due to the structural deficiency of this bridge it is included on the Department’s Municipal Red List of deficient bridge structures.  It is in need of complete replacement or extensive rehabilitation to carry all legal loads.”   Recommendation: Bridge be barricaded and posted “Bridge Closed”. 

The Board of Selectmen thank you for your understanding and will keep you informed as to the future plan for repairing or rehabilitating.
