Henniker Community Profile:
A gathering of ideas; Caring about the future
This is a one and a half day event which we hope every town resident will attend. It’s purpose is to identify what residents feel is special about our town and to identify issues which need to be addressed to preserve these qualities while looking ahead to plan for the future. There is much to be discussed while enjoying good food and community.
April 17th & April 18th, 2009
Friday Evening, April 17 (6-9:30pm)
- Arrival and potluck supper at Henniker Community School
- Welcome and historical overview
- Explanation of the Community Profile Process
- Community “snapshot” using census information
- Collective evaluation based on 10 areas of community success
- Brainstorming about Henniker – strengths, weaknesses, the future…
Saturday, April 18 (8:30 - 2pm)
- Breakfast by Dunkin Donuts and day 2 kick-off
- Identification of key issues
- Voting and selection of immediate action initiatives
- Fundraiser lunch to benefit 7th grade
- Final Step – Plans to implement initiatives and achieve goals
Transportation & Children’s Activities:
- Free transportation: Need a ride? Let us know. We can pick you up.
- Childcare: Can’t get a sitter? Bring the kids – free childcare onsite
