Town of Henniker After Storm Update - Craney Hill Road
Monday, August 29, 2011
The town Highway Department has been working very hard to restore Craney Hill Road, which has been closed since the beginning of the storm. Severe damage was done as a result of the strong flow of water which washed away a large section of the road.
Crews will be working through Tuesday to hopefully reopen the road to some degree (at least one lane). If not completed by the end of Tuesday, we expect that it will be done no later than Wednesday. Your patience is appreciated and the highway crew is doing all they can to meet this deadline.
In other areas of damage, the town was very fortunate to only receive minimal damage resulting from fallen tree limbs and minor short term flooding in some areas.
The Emergency Management Director, Tia Hooper, has been surveying the total damage and is in the process of creating a complete report of the incidents concerning any damage.
A thanks goes out to Fire Chief Keith Gilbert and his department along with the Police Department personnel for their tireless efforts of service during the storm.
