Highway Superintendent / Road Agent: Town of Henniker, NH (population 5,080) seeks a Highway Superintendent / Road Agent to effectively plan and direct all activities of the Highway Department including snow cleanup and removal, street sweeping, constructing and repairing of roads, curbs and sidewalks, bridge maintenance and preventive maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in short and long-range planning, purchasing, equipment maintenance, capital and operating budgetary preparation, supervisory and team building experience. Duties include representing the department at a variety of meetings; responding professionally to citizen complaints; preparing and presenting annual budgets; maintaining public records; assigning and scheduling labor and equipment to all projects; inspecting work in progress for conformance to all policies and safety procedures; providing evaluations and training for all staff; and maintaining positive, professional communications with all subordinates, contractors, staff, residents, committees and elected officials.
Solid Waste-Transfer Station Superintendent: Town of Henniker, NH (population 5,080) seeks a Superintendent to effectively plan and direct all activities of the Transfer Station, Recycling Center and Parks and Properties. The Superintendent ensures compliance with all local policies and procedures, laws, regulations and permits relating to solid waste; performs technical work necessary for directing the operations of all departments and supervises activities of all work crews. Additional duties include representing the Town's interests in the Concord Cooperative and Central N.H. Solid Waste District; collecting data pertaining to the operation of the facility; arranging for the delivery and pick up of recyclable materials to minimize expenses and enhance revenues; winter maintenance and cleanup of various facilities; training employees; and evaluating, recommending or initiating new and improved practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in solid waste management; responding professionally to citizen complaints; preparing and presenting annual budgets; maintaining public records; assigning and scheduling labor and equipment to all projects; and maintaining positive, professional communications with all subordinates, contractors, staff, residents, committees and elected officials. This is a salaried position.
