Two Department Head Appointments made by the Henniker Board of Selectmen

The Henniker Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce the hiring of Carl Knapp as the new Highway Department Superintendent.

Mr. Knapp comes to Henniker with a wealth of experience, having served as the Superintendent of Public Works in Weare, NH for twelve years and previously holding the position as foreman for seven years for a total of nineteen years service to the Town of Weare.

Mr. Knapp will begin his duties in Henniker on December 13, 2010.

The Henniker Selectmen have also appointed Mr. William McGirr as Superintendent of the Henniker Transfer Station/Recycling Center. 

Mr. McGirr has been employed at the transfer station from 1997-2000 and again from 2003 to the present time, having joined the Highway Department for a short time in between.  He started his new position on November 24, 2010.

His ten years experience at the Transfer Station have given him the required insight and knowledge of the needs of the facility and what the future might bring to this ever-changing industry.  He is eager to exercise his expertise in the areas of facility streamlining, expense reductions and revenue maximization.
