VOLUNTEERING 

All appointed committees are run by volunteers who are officially appointed by the Board of Selectmen.  Elected positions are voted on by the townspeople every March and the winners become Elected Officials of the town.

20 Members, 3 Year Terms.  The Henniker Youth Athletic Committee is a town-based organization whose mission is to provide rewarding athletic opportunities for Henniker youth. Children participating in our programs will experience a positive environment focused on learning the rules, skills and strategies of the sport, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Azalea Park / Riverwalk Committee (APPOINTED) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . MINUTES

10 Members, 3 Year Terms.  The Azalea Park/Riverwalk Committee was originally formed as a group of interested citizens after the 2009 "Henniker Profile" workshops conducted by the UNH Cooperative Extension.  Shortly after the Profile, the Selectmen sanctioned an official committee whose charge is to:  1)  Improve Azalea Park; 2) River bank stabilization; 3) Improve access, visibility and signage;  4) Develop trail network along river, beginning at Azalea Park; and 5) Educate the public about trail availability.

Up to 10 Henniker Members to represent the Henniker Papermill Restoration, Business Community, New England College, Town Official, Planning, Conservation, Historical Society/Historic District, Highway Safety and Selectmen.  3 Year Terms.  The Currier & Ives Scenic Byway Council is made up of selectmen-appointed representatives from the towns of Henniker, Hopkinton, Webster and Salisbury, NH.  The council, which formed a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2012, is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, recreational and educational purposes, working in each participating town to promote, plan and encourage protection of the byway's resources.
