Feinstein Challenge

March 1 - April 30, 2012

 

FEB. 9, 2012 . . . The Henniker Food Pantry is participating in the Feinstein Challenge $1 Million Giveaway To Fight Hunger

The more donations made to the Henniker Food Pantry - from March 1st to April 30th 2012 – the more of the Feinstein Challenge money we will get! These donations can include cash, checks and food items (valued at $1.00 per item or pound).

Each participating organization will get a percentage of the $1,000,000 in proportion to what is collected - up to $35,000!

So please help the Henniker Food Pantry collect as much of this $1,000,000 as possible!

Donations of food may be brought to the Tucker Free Library.

Donations of money may be sent to:  Henniker Food Pantry, P.O. Box 55, Henniker, NH 03242

 

 

The Henniker Food Pantry distributes food to those in need living in Henniker. The Henniker Food Pantry, in an effort to better serve the needs of our community, is now open for additional hours to distribute supplemental food.

If you have any questions call Holly Preble at (603) 428-6015 or Denise Getts at (603) 428-7554. The food pantry is located at 21 Western Ave. in the back of the Grange building, which is to the left of the Tucker Free Library. There is plenty of parking in the back. The Pantry is run by volunteers from Henniker.

 

DONATIONS The Tucker Free Library and the Henniker Food Pantry have teamed up!  The Tucker Free Library is providing a drop off location for food donations. Anyone interested in donating non-perishable food to the pantry can do so during regular operating hours.  In addition, the Henniker Congregational Church and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church collect food on Sundays. Call Holly or Denise for drop off at the pantry.

INCOME & RESIDENCY ELIGIBILITY:  To determine if you are eligible please read the following. 

 

Are you or any member or your household currently eligible for and/or receiving help from any of the following programs?

  • Fuel Assistance

  • Food Stamps

  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

  • Medicaid (State Welfare)

  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

  • Aid to the Needy Blind

  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)

  • Old Age Assistance

  • Aid to Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD)

  • Subsidized Housing

  • Head Start

  • County, City or Town Welfare

AND/OR is your combined Gross (before taxes) Yearly Household Income at or below the following guidelines?

1 person - $20,036

2 people - $26,955

3 people - $33,874

4 people - $40,793

5 people - $47,712

6 people - $54,631

7 people - $61,550

8 people - $68,469

If either of these apply then you are allowed to receive food from the Henniker Food Pantry. Proof of residency is needed as well. Proof of residency would be:

  • Car registration (driver’s licenses are not valid)

  • Utility bill, most recent (phone, water, gas, electric, trash or sewer, etc.)

  • Bank statement, most recent

  • Government check, most recent

  • Pay check, most recent

  • Property tax receipt, most recent

  • Housing rental contract of current residence

  • Mortgage documents of current residence
